Praktikum/ Bachelorarbeit/ Masterarbeit: Aufbau einer Mobilfunkzelle mittels SDR

Problemstellung

Die RACE RESULT Hardware erfasst Zeitnahmedaten auf Sportveranstaltungen und überträgt diese mittels 2G/3G/4G Internetverbindungen zur Auswertesoftware. Hierbei kommt es neben Ausfällen der Netzwerkinfrastruktur auf allen Ebenen regelmäßig zu Unwägbarkeiten, da z.B.  

a) an sehr entlegenen Punkten gemessen wird oder

b) mitten in urbanen Ballungszentren (wie z.B. beim London-Marathon) bei einer Sportveranstaltung mit tausenden Teilnehmern die Zelle überlastet wird oder

c) auf Bändern Frequenzen und Netzkonfigurationen kommuniziert werden müssen, welche in Mitteleuropa nicht anzutreffen sind.

In unserer Anwendung kommt es darauf an, dass unsere Firmware und Hardware unter allen Umständen optimal mit den ungünstigen Bedingungen umgeht. Vor allem eine robuste Kommunikation muss sichergestellt werden. Allerdings lassen sich die genannten Szenarien auf dem Tisch unserer Firmwareentwickler und in der Produktion bisher nur schwer gezielt testen.

Aufgabenstellung

Es soll ein Prüfstand aufgebaut werden, mit dem sowohl in der Entwicklung als später auch in der Produktion eine 2G/3G/4G Funkzelle emuliert werden kann. Hierbei ist wichtig, die volle Kontrolle über alle Parameter der Zelle zu haben. Es sollen später gezielt alle wichtigen Parameter variiert werden können. Hierzu gehören z.B.:

• 2G/3G/4G Umschaltung und Blockade einzelner Technologien (Beispiel Norwegen: 4G über Roaming wäre zwar einwählbar, aber eine Datenübertragung - 2G würde nicht funktionieren)

• Betrieb auf allen weltweit gängigen 4G Bändern

• Blockade/Drop einzelner Ports/Pakettypen

• Packet Loss einstellbar

• Sehr lange/zufällige Latenzen

• Plötzliches Verschwinden/Erscheinen von Netzen

• Reset von Netzen während einer Verbindung

• Ausfall einzelner Netzkomponenten, wie z.B. APN

Angedachter Ablauf

• Recherche und Analyse der verfügbaren offenen BTS Stacks + SDR Lösungen (z.B. OpenBTS oder YateBTS)
• Auswahl und Inbetriebnahme eines BTS Stacks + SDR
• Masterarbeit: Implementierung einzelner Test-Cases und Durchführung von Tests in enger Kooperation mit unserer Firmwareentwicklung der Zeitnahmehardware/Aufbau eines Prüfstands für die Serienüberprüfung in der Produktion/5G Zelle
